Statue of Aunt Kati
The favorite phenomenon of the people of Fehérvár is Aunt Kati, who used to be an urban market-woman. The city market, where everyone knew Aunt Kati, used to stan at the present site of the mall, Alba Plaza. The bronze statue of Aunt Kati in Liszt Ferenc Street commemorates her lovely smile and the old market. Passers-by love to rub her nose hoping it will bring them luck. This superstition is the reason why her nose is so bright.
